The crew was great and contributed significantly to the good trip. Eros is in a desolate state. The captain didn't support his team. Always the first one off the board, even went to the captain's dinner! Dealing with people is not his strength The air conditioning does not run continuously in the heat and is switched off at night. Electricity on board is rare and insufficient for charging electronic devices. Cabins are far too small. An imposition.

Beautiful holiday. TOP crew: Kosta, Tyson, Haissan and Mohammed make you feel pampered, served and revered. Our guide Alexandros made us experience Greece like locals, great! The only negative flaw is the heat in the cabin (Hemeria ship), in August the air conditioning is mandatory, but it doesn't work very well and sometimes it is really difficult to sleep.

Captain Eros anchored at Lakka across entrance to bay with 100 + meters dark line to shore. Very un professional. Would never get on this companies boats. Eros .

I don’t often write reviews but Sail in Greece asked repeatedly at the end of our trip, so I’ll do so in hopes that their interest in feedback is sincere. I hope this will also help guide and manage the expectations of others considering the trip. I’m giving it three stars but in some respects it was five, some it was more of a two On the Ionian Sea on the Hera, my wife and I, as well as some old and new friends, had a great time and will have wonderful memories for the rest of our lives. The crew took care of us well. Food was great. We couldn't have picked a better group of fellow passengers to spend time with. Most of the ports were exciting to explore. I'm glad I said "yes" and would have regretted missing out on this experience. However, there are a few points that Sail in Greece needs to work on before I'd recommend this cruise. - The diesel smell below deck. Some cabins were unbearable. Most cabins smelled most of the time. The smell was noticeable as soon as you went below deck. The crew at first pretended it wasn't there. Below deck was full of automatic air fresheners both in the hall and within the cabins. Everytime we stopped, there was an oil sheen beside the ship. We were told it would be fixed as soon as the ship was done for the season but other reviews pointed out this issue a year ago. You need to get this fixed, period. It's not just an obnoxious order but it could sicken people. Fix it! This is a serious issue. Sail in Greece should notify people here when the problem has been fixed and guarantee so with an offer double their money back if it isn’t. - a few times, guests had prepaid for excursions, port fees, etc. but the crew wasn't aware, requiring the guest to find a copy of the receipt. Some times this required showing a credit card or bank transaction because no invoice receipt had been provided. This shouldn’t be sorted out on the ship. Every guest should have received a full accounting of prepaid and due charges before they arrived. Some other suggestions to improve the experience. - For the $150 rental charge, we were expecting better than an inflatable kayak that was impossible to paddle in the wind. They at least were new, as the crew was assembling them when we arrived. The photos on the web site showed hardshell, seaworthy kayaks. UPDATE: Sail-in-Greece has updated their price sheet to clarify the kayaks are inflatable. - Snorkeling equipment was scant and in bad condition. I'd rather they recommended I bring my own. - More swim noodles, floats, etc for the water. - A way to dry wet clothes. We and a friend had to buy our own clothespins. Not a big deal. - A hand spool with a hook and a sinker is not "fishing equipment." Better to not promise anything. If guests can use rods on the boat, encourage them to rent and bring their own. -provide a sample agenda before guests book a trip. The downtime was fine with most of us but seems to be a disappointment to other reviewers. - Plataria was a dud - and I don't think it's just the time of year we stopped there. We found things to do in all the other ports. And some points for future travelers: - The boat didn't sail and couldn't sail. That was ok with us - but Sail in Greece should make this very clear to avoid disappointment. - This isn't a cruise for people with kids, limited physical abilities or looking for constant excitement. You'll be up and down stairs on the ship. You'll have a lot of time to rest, read, talk, drink. -the rooms are boat cabins, not hotel rooms. They’re tight. Have realistic expectations. - In hindsight, I'd recommend going a la carte on drinks. The drink package may be a bit overgenerous - and drinks aren't that expensive. Plus you'll probably be imbibing in port.

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!! I cannot stress this enough—our experience with Sail in Greece was an utter disaster. We booked the Aphrodite gulet a full year in advance, planning a special vacation for 14 people, including four small children. We arrived in Greece bursting with excitement, only to be told the day before our departure that the ship was "broken" and unavailable. What followed was a living nightmare. We were abandoned in a hotel in Athens for the entire week, with no answers, just endless, shady excuses. First, they claimed the ship was broken, then they shifted to saying it was missing papers that needed government approval, and the lies kept coming. After digging on our own, we discovered the ship had failed a security check because it lacked essential safety elements and reeked. Our kids were heartbroken, and the entire group felt utterly scammed and powerless. Sail in Greece obliterated our vacation and proved themselves to be completely unprofessional and deceitful. Aphrodite may be the goddess of love, but this experience was more like a visit from Hades himself. Do yourself a favor—avoid them at all costs. Seek a reliable and trustworthy sailing company elsewhere in Greece.

Avoid this company at any price.I am writing on behalf of 20 passengers who sailed aboard the vessel EROS, under the command of Captain Georgios Paraskevas, during our trip in Greece from August 10-17, which commenced in Corfu. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by several significant technical difficulties that severely impacted our journey. Firstly, we encountered a malfunction with the anchor system, along with an issue beneath the vessel that led to an entire day being lost while waiting for a spare part to be replaced. Additionally, there was a persistent and strong smell of gasoline in the rooms throughout the trip, which we found to be extremely dangerous and unsettling. This issue greatly affected the comfort and safety of the passengers. The cooling system also failed to function, forcing many passengers to sleep on the deck in discomfort. Furthermore, it became apparent that the captain lacked the necessary skills to operate the vessel effectively, as it was primarily managed by the Egyptian crew, who appeared to be guiding the captain in performing essential tasks. This was both obvious and quite alarming to all on board. Additionally, several other issues arose during the trip that were not mentioned in our initial email. These include: Persistent and significant flooding of the bathroom floors and leakage of the sewage water making the bathroom usage difficult, exposing us to potential waterborne diseases and extremely unpleasant smell in the cabins and throughout the hallway. A near collision with another sailing boat Collisions with boat during passenger transfers to the beach ( AntiPaxos) An incident at Lefkada beach, where a lifeguard called the police to protest our boat’s disembarkation (Lefkada) Frequent turn offs of the air conditioning along with gas infused fumes and extremely unpleasant sewage smells were forcing passengers to sleep on the deck outside. Even the ships that were docked alongside our ship were complaining about our exhaust fumes (Nidri). In summary, we are relieved that the trip concluded without any serious incidents, but we remain concerned about the overall safety and operation of the vessel. Management of the company is refusing to offer any compensation !

Avoid Sail in Greece at all costs! Our family booked the Aphrodite gulet a year in advance, only to be told the day before that the ship was "broken" and unavailable. We were stuck in a hotel in Athens for a week, fed endless excuses. We later found out the ship failed a security check for missing safety features and was unsafe. Our kids were devastated, and our vacation was ruined. To make matters worse, they blocked our comments from several websites to hide the truth. This company is completely untrustworthy—look elsewhere!

MAJOR SCAMMERS Our experience with Sail in Greece was nothing short of a disaster. We booked a boat with them a year in advance, planning a special trip for 14 people, including four young children. We arrived in Greece full of excitement, only to be told the day before our departure that the ship was "broken" and unavailable. What followed was a week of frustration, anger, and heartbreak. Instead of sailing through the beautiful Greek islands, we were stuck in a simple hotel in Athens, with no activities planned and no answers from the company. The kids were devastated, crying, and asking why their dream vacation was ruined. The excuses we received were shady and inconsistent, and we never got a clear explanation of what actually happened to the boat. It felt like a cruel scam, where our money and hopes were taken without any regard for the impact on our lives. Sail in Greece is not a company you can trust. They ruined our vacation, left us stranded, and showed a complete lack of professionalism or compassion. Spare yourself the stress, disappointment, and heartbreak – choose a more reliable and honest company for your sailing adventure in Greece.
